Fr. Serge was born on April 7, 1958 in New York City. He was baptized by his grandfather – Archpriest Peter Mocharsky. When his family moved to Long Island, he began studying at the parish school and serving in the altar at St. Seraphim Church under Archpriest (later Bishop) Mitrophan Znosko-Borovsky. In 1969, the family moved to Lakewood, where he graduated from Russian School in 1974 and high school in 1976. From 1976-1978, he studied humanities and music at Ocean County College. In September 1978, he enrolled at Holy Trinity Seminary, from which he graduated three years later in June 1981 with a Bachelor of Theology.

On September 18, 1977, he was tonsured a reader at St. Alexander Nevsky Church by Bishop Laurus. On August 9, 1981, he married Lubov I. Afanasenko. On February 15, 1982, he was ordained a subdeacon by Metropolitan Philaret, and on May 23 of the same year, ordained to the diaconate. On August 29, 2000, he was ordained a priest by Archbishop Laurus. Fr. Serge has been teaching at the Russian School since 1976 and is the father of five children.

Fr. Anthony Williams was born on Nov. 5, 1988, in Waterville Maine. His parents are Archpriest Chad and Matushka Cynthia. He graduated from Holy Trinity Seminary in Jordanville NY in May of 2013 with a Bachelor in Theology. In July 2013, he married Bridget Barker. They have 4 daughters: Angelina, Maria, Hanna, and Katharine. Fr. Anthony was ordained a deacon on Sept. 6, 2015, and a priest on Sept. 11, 2020; both times by His Eminence Metropolitan Hilarion. He was assigned to St. Alexander’s on Sept. 12, 2020, as a full-time cleric.

Lubov I. Lukianov (née Afanasenko) grew up in Nyack, NY, where she attended the parish school at Holy Virgin Protection Church. She was a spiritual child of Archpriest Seraphim Slobodskoy. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Russian from Manhattanville College in Purchase, NY. Matushka Luba went on to complete a Master’s Degree from the Russian School at Norwich University in Northfield, VT, and 60 credits toward her Doctorate at Columbia University in New York City.

Matushka Luba taught Russian for two years at Manhattanville College, and for two years at Barnard College and Columbia University. She created the Russian language program and taught for 25 years in the schools of the Freehold Regional High School District. For seven years, she was the administrator at St. Alexander Nevsky Parish School. Matuska Lubov is the spouse of Archpriest Serge Lukianov; their five children all graduated from the Parish School.

Elena was born and raised in Kursk, Russia. In 1993, she received her diploma as an Elementary School Teacher from the Kursk State Pedagogical Institute. From 1990-1993, Elena taught grades 1-3 at Pushkin High School From 1994-1998, she taught at Massachusetts General Hospital Children Center in Boston, MA. From 1998-2002, she worked as assistant director in a laboratory at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY studying the molecular structures of retinal disease. Mrs. Gracheva has been teaching at St. Alexander Nevsky Parish School since 2004.
