Цели нашей школы
- Церковно-приходские школы основаны на многолетних церковных традициях Русской Зарубежной Церкви. С момента прибытия русских эмигрантов на американскую землю такие школы основывались при храмах для научения детей Православной вере. Важность сохранения своей веры для будущего поколения за рубежом осознавали основоположники церковной жизни во всех странах, куда ступала нога русских переселенцев. Их примеру следуют священники нашего времени, стремясь передать в надежные руки детей и внуков плоды наших трудов – наши храмы, культурные центры, культурные и духовные ценности. Этому способствует и наша церковно-приходская школа – место воспитания подрастающего поколения в истинной вере наших отцов.
- Русские школы всегда были для детей, которые росли за рубежом, связующим звеном с исторической родиной. Наша эмиграция сохранила веру, быт и традиции России. Мы были и продолжаем являться носителями этой живой истории, а с падением коммунистического режима – и живого общения с Россией. И только здесь, в русской школе, дети могли изучать историю и культуру России, русский язык и русскую литературу. Сегодня наша церковно-приходская школа продолжает исполнять ту же миссию.
- Приходские школы также играют важную миссионерскую роль распространия Православия среди местных жителей, которые принимают Православную веру и становятся частью нашей церковной семьи. Для учащихся в школе имеются две программы: русская и параллельная ей програма на английском языке для англоязычных учеников.
Our School’s Mission Statement
- Parish schools are founded on the age-old ecclesiastical traditions of the Russian Church Abroad. From the very moment that Russian émigrés arrived in the American land, such schools were founded at our churches for the education of children in the Orthodox Faith. The founders of church life in every country that Russian immigrants made their home understood the importance of preserving their faith for future generations. Priests in our own day follow in their footsteps, striving to pass along the fruits of our labors – our churches, cultural centers, and cultural and spiritual mores – into the trustworthy hands of our children and grandchildren. It is here, at our parish school, that we continue this tradition ‒ raising the next generation in the true Faith of our fathers.
- Russian schools were always a connecting link between children born abroad and their historic homeland. Our émigré community has preserved the faith, lifestyle, and traditions of Russia. We were and continue to be the bearers of a living tradition and, with the collapse of the communist regime – a living interaction with Russia. And it is only here, in Russian school, that our children can learn Russian history and culture, the Russian language, and Russian literature. Today, our parish school continues to fulfill that same mission.
- Parish schools also play an important role in the dissemination of the Orthodox Faith among the local population, especially those who convert to the Orthodox Faith and become a part of our church family. For this reason, two programs are offered to those who wish to study at our school: a Russian program, and a parallel program in for English-speaking students.
